The evaluation of the contribution of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) to addressing the reproductive rights and health needs of young people since the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) was sponsored by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID), the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The goal was to contribute to a better understanding of the conditions necessary for achieving good practice, and to draw strategic lessons; the purpose to assess the performance in six countries of UNFPA and the IPPF affiliates (Family Planning Associations, or FPAs) in promoting the reproductive rights and health of young people since ICPD.
