Third in a series of treaty events, Focus 2003; Treaties Against Transnational Organised Crime and Terrorism was held at United Nations Secretariat in September 2003, parallel to the General Debate of the 58th General Assembly. The treaty event aimed to highlight the persistent problem of transnational organised and crime and terrorism, with a view to further encourage international cooperation in combating it.
This publication, while calling on nations to ratify the protocols of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, is a summary of the objectives and key provisions of a number of the network of treaties adopted by the international community in regard to transnational organised crime and terrorism.
