Authored by Michael Roberts and published by Marga Institute, this book is a well-researched compilation that has its references to a historical survey which came out in 1989 of the multicultural existence of groups of people in Sri Lanka. The book has a series of photographs captioned with narratives of history and of important landmarks, both during the British era and post-independence Ceylon. The book has contributions from people from various backgrounds, some of those who have themselves researched into the hereditary existence of different cultures of Sri Lanka. It also serves as a handbook for social scientists and provides facets of history that the modern generation is seemingly unaware of.
