The main idea behind the Regional Poverty Profile (RPP) has been to capture the overall trends of poverty in the region, to allow governments to be familiar with the experiences in other countries in the area of poverty reduction, and to derive the benefit from them. RPP 2005, in addition to profiling the poor, seeks to study productive employment as a means to combating poverty. This report focuses on the analysis of recent trends, depth and incidents of poverty, covering income and non-income dimensions. RPP 2005 is an attempt to analyse dynamics of growth, employment and poverty reduction.
